In 2025 I served as President of IT Society MMU Cyberjaya. It was the most challenging role I've held, and one of the most meaningful.

## Reshaping the society

- **Restructured** IT Society's organisational structure
- Introduced two new divisions: **Marketing** and **Faculty Engagement**
- Created the **Special Interest Groups** initiative, so members can go deeper into the topics they care about
- Oversaw **6 divisional teams and 2 event teams**

## Advocating for students

I pushed for the review of subjects that weren't meeting students' learning needs, including Computer Networks, Software Engineering Fundamentals, Fundamentals of Digital Competence and Computational Methods.

I also pushed for **student- and alumni-written blogs** about internships, work experience and technologies. The internship series we published (Grab, Ant International and MoneyLion) came out of this.

## Bringing the community in

We worked with Selangor-based tech communities such as **DevMalaysia** and **SherpaSec**, who ran meetups on campus. One of these was the KLJS x DevMalaysia x IT Society Cyberjaya Edition meetup in August 2025. These sessions helped students look at the tech scene beyond the classroom.

## Running the big events

I managed the finances for the organisation and its major events: **CodeNection**, our hackathon, and **BarCamp Cyberjaya**. CodeNection 2025 had a RM 10,000 prize pool and 584+ registered participants. Its title sponsor was iFAST Global Hub AI, where I was interning at the time, and MoneyLion, my previous company, was the gold sponsor. BarCamp Cyberjaya 2025 had 217 sign-ups before the event.

## What I learned

We handled several crises across different areas that year. The biggest lesson I took away is that when things get heavy, it's the people who stay by your side that carry you through. The committees stayed up past midnight for meetings and kept contributing on top of everything else they had going on. IT Society is what it is because of them.

At the end of my term I handed over the presidency to Izzminhal Akmal bin Norhisyam. I'm confident he and his team will do just as well, if not better.
